This is the 4th year the the League has registered voters at Women's Equality day and the best ever. What a delight to spend the day outside at ISU promoting democracy.

Gilbert School Board Candidate Forum

The Gilbert PTO and the League of Women Voters of Ames & Story County invite voters in the Gilbert School District to participate in a candidate forum for the three open Gilbert School Board seats on Wednesday, September 2 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the Gilbert High School auditorium at 312 Gretten Street, Gilbert. The candidates are Tyler Holck, Destiny Lempiainen, Douglas Moore, and Kimberly Mosiman. This free event is an excellent opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their views. Review of the Ames School Board Candidate Forum

Over 50 people, including Ames School Board Candidates, Lucas Deardorff, Alisa Frandsen, Lewis Rosser and Nathan Buss attended the candidate forum on August 13 in the Ames City Hall council chambers. Candidate Rodney Briggs was unable to attend, but did send a statement. Sophia Magill acted as the forum moderator. Panelists Jeanie Paskach-PTO, Sarina Rhinehart-Ames Tribune and Deb Schildroth-LWV questioned the candidates during the first hour while the audience questioned the candidates during the second hour. Distribution of resources, the 1 to 1 initiative, nutrition, academics, professional development, transparency, and school district properties were among the several important topics discussed.

Ames School Board Candidate Forum

The League of Women Voters of Ames & Story County invites voters in the Ames school district to participate in a candidate forum for the four open Ames School Board seats on August 13 from 7 – 9 pm at the Ames City Hall Council Chambers at 515 Clark Ave, Ames. Three panelists will question the candidates during the first hour of the forum, while the audience will have a chance to question the candidates during the second hour of the forum. The list of candidates includes Rodney Briggs, Lucas Deardorff, Alisa Frandsen, Lewis Rosser and Nathan Buss.  This free event is an excellent opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their views.
