Young Adult World View will be the topic of discussion at the October General Meeting of the League of Women Voters of Ames & Story County. This meeting will feature a panel of young people that will include ISU students and young professionals. The public is welcome to attend this free event on:

Ames City Council Candidate Forum Recap

Over 50 people, including Ames City Council Candidates, Bronwyn Beatty-Hansen, Dan DeGeest, Tim Gartin, and Chris Nelson attended the candidate forum on October 8 in the Ames City Hall council chambers. Candidate Matt Converse was unable to attend, but did send a statement. Devita Harden acted as the forum moderator. This was an open microphone forum with lively audience participation. Fiscal Responsibility, Land Use, Student Rental Properties, Zoning, Sustainable Energy Sources, Infrastructure, Complete Streets and Economic Development were among the important topics discussed. Ames City Council Candidate Forum

Ames residents are invited to participate in a candidate forum for the Ames City Council on Thursday, October 8, 7p-9p at Ames City Hall Council Chambers, 515 Clark, Ames. The candidates are Bronwyn Beatty-Hansen, Matt Converse, Dan DeGeest, Tim Gartin, and Chris Nelson. The forum will be televised on government access cable Channel 12 for live broadcast, later broadcast, and streaming on demand. The live and television audiences are encouraged to participate with their comments and questions. This forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Ames & Story County.
