LWV Book Group
In 2003-2004 co-presidents, Mary Jo Brearley and Ruth Jones, gathered some together some persons who were interested in beginning a reading group within the League membership. The group has grown as more and more persons became interested in the group. The group meets late once a month August through May, excluding December. Books are selected by the membership for the year usually the last meeting in May. Meetings are held in members home and leadership for discussion of the book of the month is distributed among the members. The group is non-partisan and the selections are usually non-fiction, are related to political, social and local issues but can also be historical biographical. The group is open to all League members.

The meetings are scheduled the 4th Wednesday of the month. The hostess and the person in charge of the discussion is one and the same each month. It has been suggested that we begin the meetings at 1 p.m. instead of 1:30 p.m.
