League of Women Voters of Ames and Story County Book Club

In 2003-2004, co-presidents Mary Jo Brearley and Ruth Jones gathered together members who were interested in beginning a League reading group. The group has grown as more and more persons have become interested.

Books are selected by the membership for the following year during the May meeting. The group is non-partisan; the selections are mostly (but not always) non-fiction, and are primarily related to political, social, economic, environmental and local issues, but have also been historical or biographical in nature. The group is open to all League members. Come join us!
